Mother’s Day Mystery

Every restaurant is planning for a big crowd for Mother’s Day Brunch and they are probably going to raise the prices because of the crowd. You could skip all of that hassle of making reservation at an ordinary or fancy restaurant. Help solve a murder instead.
The Dinner Detectives are inviting you to a murderous dinner instead of that cutsy brunch you always give your mom. On May 7 (Saturday) from 6:15 pm to 9:30 pm Marriott Hotel Austin (Downtown) will be the place to be for solving murders. The Dinner Detectives will give mothers the chance to prove their innocence in a room full of suspects.
The actors are hidden in the audience and when a murder goes down everyone in the room is a suspect. This dinner show will need the help of everyone during the four-course meal. And you could have the opportunity of putting your mom into the actual show too (if you are not too late).

Days of Giving Back, Never Giving Up!
Austin is give back to the community. It is time to kick-off community service day.
There will be a morning rally and volunteer meet-up at Austin City Hall’s Plaza on Saturday (May 14). There will be canned-food drive, clothing drive, and community service afterwards. All you have to do is sign up as a volunteer to improve the community of Austin. You can be a project leader or a create your own project at this community service day.

Going Up wants to educate and provide support to the at-risk LGBT youth to prevent homelessness and suicide and you can help to support that.
Going up day—Gays: Organized, Involved, Never Giving Up—strives to unite the LGBT community while educating the community about their strong pursuit in equal rights. They are a strong community of LGBT and open their arms to anyone willing to join them in pursuing full equal rights.
Volunteering with Going Up will give strong support to the LGBT community and the youth. There will be an after party to the community service day.
Unite! Ring Wedding themed launch party will be at Cheer Up Charlie’s at 8 pm. There will be disco DJ’s, live music, wedding cake, and free drinks to the first 100 people by Titos Vodka. Come dressed to impress.
Support the LGBT community, but more importantly help the Austin community and youth.

Dive into a Great Time at The Mean Eyed Cat
Want a good old fashioned honky tonk bar where you can grab a bite to eat, drink a cold beer, put a dollar in the jukebox, and forget about the world for a while? Look no further than The Mean Eyed Cat on 1621 West 5th Street. The owner, Chris Marsh, grew up listening to Johnny Cash and named the bar after his late father’s favorite Cash song.
The Mean Eyed Cat is plastered with Cash paintings and photos. Some say it’s like stepping into a Johnny Cash wonderland. The best part about The Mean Eyed Cat is that it doesn’t take itself too seriously; it knows it’s a dive bar, but that’s what makes it so fun. The seating consists of picnic tables and there’s Boone’s Farm advertised on a menu wall. So you know it’s good.
There’s also a large outdoor patio where there is live music playing almost every night of the week. Some of the upcoming acts are Brad Dunn & Ellis County (playing Saturday, May 21 at 9 p.m.) and Lucas Hudgins & First Cousins (Sunday, May 22 at 7:30 p.m.).
Located just four blocks from the Gables Pressler apartments, The Mean Eyed Cat is a hop, skip and a jump away!
