Austin City Limits is a favorite show of mine. It is also America’s longest running concert music program. First airing in 1976, initially Austin City Limits featured original Texas music, but as its fan base grew so did the variety of music it played. Austin City Limits now focuses on artists that combine unique styles of music and songwriting from all across the world. From Jazz, to Progressive Country, Rap, Indie, and Classic Rock n’ Roll.
Austin City Limits is taped live by PBS local station KLRU on the campus of the University of Texas at Austin, and even has a mock skyline of Austin in the background of the stage - quite fitting for the self-proclaimed “Live Music Capital of the World.”
The show even inspired the Austin City Limits Music Festival which is an annual live music festival at Zilker Park in Austin. Just see how diverse the music festival’s line-up is this year!
Not sure when or where to see Austin City Limits? Visit their schedule to see which artists are being showcased next.
Have you really taken full advantage of Zilker Metropolitan Park?
It’s spring time and with Zilker Park only three miles away, you can always have something to do without worrying about these high gas prices.

You can never be bored with this beautiful, 350 acre park. So you know what I am going to do just to ensure that you won’t get bored? I will make a list of five things you can do five billion times this spring and summer. Five things you can never get bored doing because every time you do them they will give you different experience.
1.Paddle a canoe on Town Lake. Try to beat your last time of getting across the lake. And you know what? Bring the dog! I don’t think he would be a great paddler, but he is still great company.
2. Take a ride on the Zilker Zephyr miniature train. You can do some people watching while you cruise through the park. I love to watch people; they are so entertaining. It’s amazing what you see when people don’t think others are watching.
3. Exercise on the hike and bike trails. Set goals for yourself and each time you come back to bike or hike try to extend your time.
4. Have a picnic. Have themed picnics. You could have a healthy picnic, vegetarian picnic, Cajun-inspired picnic, ‘everything you have never eaten, try it’ picnic, and the list can go on and on.
5. Zilker Hillside Theatre. They offer a lot of different shows and events. In fact, next Saturday, April 9, there will be a South Asian New Year’s Festival from noon ‘til 9 pm.
Hope these activities will keep you busy and happy this spring/summer. Now grab the dog and prepare to work you arms. Let’s work this list from beginning to end, and then again.

Kids love to dance, love adventures, and love the music that they can dance to. Let’s put that all together into on hoppin’ story.
Knuffle Bunny! Knuffle Bunny is an adventurous story of a trip to the Laundromat with a father, his daughter, and her stuffed bunny. When the bunny goes missing, it turns a day of washing clothes into a musical adventure. This musical is based on the Caldecott Honor-winning book written by Mo Willems. Presented by Kennedy Center, this adventurous tale will be performed at the Paramount Theatre.
Kids can get even more involved at the pre-show craft activity. The activity will be based off of the Knuffle bunny story. You can engage the kid’s imaginations if you donate money to the theatre. They can go home with a piece of the story.
You can get a pre-show activity every time you come to see a performance with the Play Time series. When you subscribe to the series you get free admission to three exclusive events for members only and get priority seating.
Draw the imagination with every story told and every craft made at the Paramount Theatre.
